Amulets and Talismans: Protection and Luck

An amulet or talisman is an object believed to bring luck or protection. These terms are often confused, but there is a difference: an amulet provides protection and guards against danger, while a talisman brings luck and prosperity.

What is an Amulet?

An amulet (derived from the Latin word “amuletum”, meaning “an object that protects a person from troubles”) is used to protect the owner from evil and misfortune. Amulets can take various forms, such as gemstones (especially engraved ones), statues, coins, drawings, pendants, rings, plants, and animals. Even certain words, like “vade retro satana” to ward off evil, can serve as an amulet.

What is a Talisman?

A talisman (derived from the Arabic word طلاسم “tilasm” and the Greek word “telesma”, meaning “to initiate into the mysteries”) is intended to bring luck and prosperity. Talismans are often personally made and attuned to the specific needs of the owner.

Personal Amulets and Talismans

I prepare amulets and talismans in the name of the person for protection and luck. My talismans and protective amulets are personally made by me and are not mass products from spiritual or new age shops. They are specially crafted to provide very strong protection, tailored to the specific problem of the person.

Maintenance of Your Amulet or Talisman

To maintain the effectiveness of your amulet or talisman, it is advisable to bring it to me each season (every three months) for cleansing and energy treatment. This ensures that your amulet or talisman continues to function optimally.

An amulet (from Latin amuletum; earliest extant use in Naturalis Historia [Pliny], meaning “an object that protects a person from trouble”), a close cousin of the talisman (from Arabic طلاسم tilasm, ultimately from Greek telesma or from the Greek word “telein” which means “to initiate into the mysteries”) consists of any object intended to bring good luck and/or protection to its owner. Potential amulets include: gems, especially engraved gems, statues, coins, drawings, pendants, rings, plants, animals, etc.; even words said in certain occasions—for example: vade retro satana, to repel evil or bad luck.
